Business Auto

The GMI Business Auto product is designed to provide a commercial automobile market for accounts that are handled by the standard insurance marketplace but for which the producer has no viable market, other than the non-standard and assigned risk pools. Classes of business that qualify for the GMI program are standard automobile accounts that are addressed by the business auto classifications as defined by the ISO Commercial Auto Manual.

In 2000, GMI rolled out a Monoline Business Auto program that targeted contractors and artisans. Once GMI found a comfort level in these two areas, the lines of business were expanded to where they are today. The current book of GMI mono-line business consists of contractors, artisans, building supply, wholesale distributors, system installers, municipal fleets, and specialized delivery. The key to the GMI expansion into these areas focuses on lines of business where travel is limited to a 200-mile radius and route familiarity.
