Lynise started her insurance career at GMI in 2007 as a Marketing Assistant. Seven years later, she became a Business Development rep and didn’t look back. She’s had great success supporting our Business Auto, General Liability and Cannabis Transport programs and enjoys working with agents across the U.S. We asked Lynise a little more about who she is and what makes her tick.
What is your favorite pastime?
My favorite pastime is visiting Los Alamos, New Mexico every summer to see my Dad. He spent a lot of time outdoors—you name it, he did it. My sister and I were included in just about everything and were constantly introduced to new experiences with him. My father passed away at the age of 42 so memories with him are held near and dear to me.
How do you define success?
Being able to do the things I love, providing the best possible upbringing for my children, and helping others when they’re in need.
What would you do if you weren’t doing this?
I’d just be an entrepreneur for myself. I love creating and designing different things from print all the way down to clothing. Marketing and graphic design—with an eye for creativity—is a gift that will always be a part of me.
What are you binge watching right now?
“The Circle” on Netflix. It’s a reality competition series where players are isolated in an apartment, and their only means of communication is online. It’s a social media game and of course I’m drawn to that with my background in marketing. It’s so funny watching all the personalities and a nail biter seeing all the ratings before someone actually ends up being blocked. Go check it out!
What is it about you that most folks don’t know?
I have taken classes on carpentry and electrical and will forever be a YouTube University student. That’s my “go to” spot to see if I can do it myself before hiring or bringing in the professionals. Small jobs only, though; nothing too major.
Where on earth are you hoping to travel next?
I’m not a big traveler and don’t even have my passport yet. But two places I’ve always wanted to go are Niagara Falls and Las Vegas. And I’ve always wanted to take a cruise with my family.
